About Diana
Animal relationship photographer and writer Diana Haskell was born in Paris and grew up in New York City. In addition to holding an MBA from Columbia University, she is a licensed social worker, and has also worked in philanthropy as well as the private and not-for-profiit sectors.
Diana’s career as a creative professional began in Normandy, France. A self-taught photographer with over 20 years of professional experience in landscapes and portraiture, Diana has been exhibiting her work in the US and France since 1997. She turned her lens exclusively towards the human-animal relationship in 2011. Photographing animals and the people they love, Diana celebrates the call to connection inherent in our animal relationships.
Diana currently lives in New York City with her German Shepherd Poodle mix, Luka Longlegs, practicing tai chi, and working on her LoveStory series.
About My Luka
He was listed as “young male poodle.” Petfinder said his name was Fred and that he played well with others. I had been out of a dog for too long, and I renamed him Luka. Four years later, Luka has taught me to a better listener, observer, and sniffer. We watch the seasons change and avoid streets with loud garbage trucks in them. I can’t imagine my life without him.
